Are you a humanitarian? Then boy, do we have a good opportunity for you to become a part of a big project in rural Kenya!
Have you ever heard about the charity Dig Deep?
This charity works to help communities and schools get access to water and sanitation. The project’s mission is based on the 3T’s – Taps, Toilet and Training. Being a proud partner of Dig Deep, ReadyProSupply encourages its audience to become a part of this welfare organization and join hands to help build taps and toilets for Kenya’s population, in order to provide them accessibility to clean water and safe sanitation.
The organization works in Bomet and Narok Counties in the South West part of Kenya.
According to Dig Deep, in the area they work in Keya eight out of ten people do not have access to sanitation and clean water.
In Bomet County, only 19% of the population has access to sanitation and clean water, which is far below than the 42% counted as the national average. In Narok County, water is collected by Maasai when a rainfall occurs, which is rarely. They walk for 80 minutes to collect water, which is contaminated. Lastly, nine out of ten households don’t have access to a toilet.
A rainwater harvesting system is installed, so that people can get access to clean water. Local materials are used for the system and the local artisans are trained, so that if the system encounters any problem, they can fix it on their own. The availability of water also depends on education, which is also part of the welfare organization’s project.
To provide children, especially teenage girls a private and hygienic space to go to toilet, latrines are built in every school.
Teachers and community health workers are trained on how to improve hygiene, to empower them to stop the spread of diseases
The change this project brings in rural Kenya is called the “ripple effect”. It helps prevent dirty water from killing people, provides education on health and hygiene, empowers women, raises economic potential and allows people to live with dignity.
Availability of clean water is still scarce in many countries. It is our responsibility to help the people living in these countries in whatever way we can, especially by providing training about water management and vital hygiene practices. By donating just $2, you will be contributing your fair share of support to provide children with hygiene training. This small amount allows Dig Deep to train one child for the next five years.
The amount you donate will be matched by ReadyProSupply. For every dollar you will donate, your money will help Dig Deep to provide education for a child and with ReadyProSupply’s contribution, two children will get the education they deserve.
Dig Deep put every project they do on Google Maps so that you can see exactly where your charitable funds are being spent. ReadyProSupply will post regularly via our Social Media their results.
Dig Deep is registered charity number 1148745 in England and Wales.
